Privacy

Last updated 26 August 2026.

Ask Idle is a United States–only marketplace. We do not offer the service to persons located outside the U.S. We collect public IP geolocation (city/country) on every session, host connection, and payment attempt in order to enforce that limit. Country is read from the request edge (Cloudflare CF-IPCountry when present). If the edge does not send a country, we look up the public IP with a geolocation service (currently ipwho.is) and refuse the request when country cannot be determined.

Renters send jobs to independent host machines. Hosts are not Ask Idle employees or subprocessors in the usual cloud sense — a host operator can see the prompt that lands on their box.

What we collect

What hosts see

The matched host receives your prompt and returns a completion. File attachments are converted to plain text in your browser; we do not send PDFs, Office documents, archives, or executables to hosts. Do not paste secrets, keys, or personal data into jobs. We cannot guarantee a host deletes that text.

International transfers

We do not intend to transfer personal data outside the United States as part of providing the service. If a host or renter evades the geo-fence, that is unauthorized use, not an offered transfer.

Payments

Card data is handled by Stripe. Billing address must be in the United States. We store Stripe customer/account ids and ledger amounts, not full card numbers.

Retention

Accounts, archives, and host events stay until you ask us to delete them, or we close the service. You can rename or stop using a thread; deletion of an account is done by emailing support.
